This is a linear sound redesign that I did for a recorded gameplay. The sounds used here are either found on sound libraries online, or recorded by myself through foley. This was completed on ProTools.
In all honestly, I found this process very repetitive for this specific video, but through it I was able to practice organization and how to keep my workflow neat with tools such as memory locations. Below is a picture of my ProTools session and the markers that I used to spot the sounds for this video.
Here is a video I did a sound redesign for. It was really interesting coming up with ideas for this one, as the character in this video does not speak at all. I completed this on ProTools as well.
Redesigning this really put in perspective the power sound designers have to change the narrative and context of media based on sound alone.
My concept for this video was that this character was sort of a freak that was being observed by regular people through a window, unbeknownst to him. I added a laugh track, not with the intention of making it comical, but sad and dark in a way showing how he is being exploited for entertainment.
A significant number of sounds in this video were recorded through foley by my team members and I. It was a really enjoyable process!
